Custom Order Gallery
Over the last
several years I have been taken by moods to produce something out of
the ordinary and have occasionally accepted orders from friends and
good customers for items that I do not normally offer. Now,
against my better judgement, and after years of goading by my partner
Brian, I have decided to put up a small gallery of some of these
garments for your enjoyment. The one caveat with my sharing these
is I do NOT want people contacting me wanting special items. More
often than not I have made these items only for people that I have
known for decades, or customers who have purchased a great deal from
me, (it took one fellow $2,400.00 in purchases in ONE YEAR before I
would agree to make him a federal enlisted frock coat!) So
please, do not contact me wanting something from this page, truthfully,
the quickest way to get on my nerves is for someone who has never
ordered one of our standard items to contact me wanting something
special!
That being said, enjoy the gallery!

CS/Civilian Overcoat made from blue-gray hemp jean and trimmed in red
cotton tape. Lined in FHW-made wool patterned bunting. Five
original Goodyear Buttons.

Early war CS frock coat made from blue gray hemp jean. Has been
assembled in the same style as the famous "Louisiana frock" in the
Troiani collection, which is reminiscent of Federal frock coats!
This was Brian's first frock coat, not bad, eh!?

USSS Officer's sack coat made from custom dyed FHW flannel. Lined
in the body with a silk/alpaca blend and quilted using a distinctive
1st division 3rd corps red diamond pattern.

US State Jacket made for the GHTI for the Rich Mountain event.
Made from fine weave blue flannel, and lined in indigo dyed blue
denim. Chest quilting has been done in the style of many jackets
produced in the Cincinnati area during the war.

Civilian sack coat made from Sheep's Gray on Brown satinette and
trimmed in blue cotton tape. Lined in a cotton homespun and
closed with three original Goodyear buttons.

Jacket based on the Kent, Payne, and Co. commutation jacket. Made
from fine weave oxford on brown jeancloth, and trimmed in black worsted
wool tape. THis particular jacket has small state of Virginia
buttons (thought I'd NEVER get to use those!) Now here's one
jacket I don't mind making!

Private purchase US sack coat made from our standard fatigue blouse
flannel.

CS four button jacket made from sumac dyed cassimere with original
Goodyear buttons.

Federal enlisted frock coat made from County Cloth blue kersey with
saxon blue dyed worsted wool cording for trim (this is copied from an
original 1864 contract coat.) Lined in black alpaca and sewn with
indigo dyed thread. I will never make one of these again!

CS Frock inspired by the famous "Tennesee Frocks". Made from
sheep's gray satinette and trimmed in the same kersey with which we
make our SA jackets.

CS Officer's jacket made from FHW "nicotine" satinette and lined in
homespun. Large US "muffin" buttons, hand applied gold lace rank
insignia.
