Hand stitched calico print fabric, patterned after an original belonging to Cpl. Levi Gilpin of the 51st Ohio Inf., company E.

Measures 3 1/2" wide by 13 3/4" in length. It includes four pockets, a built in pin cushion, & two layers of wool flannel to hold pins & needles. Stocked with needles, pins, white & black thread, patch material, folding scissors, and buttons (including original bone & pearl).

Leather roll-up style with built in pin cushions. Entirely hand constructed. Patterned after those made commercially during the Civil War and often offered by sutlers for the soldiers to purchase. Besides the built in pin cushions, this beauty also has on expanded pocket, a leather keeper to hold a reproduction labeled package of needles, along with a needle book. Includes:

needles, pins, black & white thread, folding scissors, and buttons (including original bone & pearl). Copied from several originals viewed in museums and in my private collection.

Patterned after an original that resides in the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA.

Made from layered cotton shirting, and with machine sewn edges done in an actual chainstitch, with hand sewn buttonholes and hand made leather end tabs. All the hand work in these is done with our superb German linen thread, and is very durable.  These are perfect "field suspenders" and will withstand the rigors of the campaign.  These excellent reproductions are available in a wide variety of colors and are a steal at $35.00 a set!
